Moving Expenses and Rent Deposits for @TomCatSamurai and Family
@PepiSmartDog's momcontacted me asking if I could set up a chip-in for @TomcatSamurai. She lives in AU and the funds collected would be subject to thecurrency exchange rate.@TomcatSamuraidesperately needs our help with moving expenses and rent deposits.Tom lives with his elderly mother and their kitty and is physicallyhandicapped, yet they are being evicted from their apartment 1/21/12 due tofeeding ferals a tiny amount of dry cat food. In their area it is against thelaw to feed any feral animal outside. Tom broke his back over20 years ago. Because he was not able to afford treatment, he has beenleft in constant pain 24/7. He has very little movement or mobility and isstill not able to afford medical treatment or even pain killers. Theironly source of income is Tom's mother's small monthly Social Security check, which has to cover rent and utilities, leaving only a small amount left forfood. They always pay theirrent, but often go without enough food. Tom says they have learned to live likethis - being hungry - so they manage. They did not expect to be evicted,as they were 'not' behind in the rent, and are at a total loss as to what todo. At this stage they are genuinely terrified at being put on the street, andlosing their precious kitty. They do not have anyspare money for moving, nor the first mo and last mo payments and securitydeposits on their next apartment. They are not physically capable of movingthemselves, so they will have to hire someone to help them. They are currentlyin Orange County, CA but are willing to relocate anywhere.Tom gets no government disability for being handicapped, even though hisdoctors agree he is. He cannot work due to the disability. Elves are currentlybusy trying to help the family find a new apartment. Any housing or Advocatehelp is generously appreciated Tom and his mother arein a desperate situation and need help urgently! Time is of the essence as theymust be out of their current housing by January 31st. The family deeplyappreciates any and all help they receive. No amount is too small - it all addsup!Thank you for readingthis letterPepiSmartDog's Mom and MarioDaCat's Mom
